The Excellence Scholarship Fund provides tuition scholarships to qualified students admitted to Baton Rouge’s highest performing private schools. The scholarships are funded through the Tuition Donation Rebate Program, which provides Louisiana taxpayers with tax rebates for their donations to the fund. To be eligible for a scholarship, students must have a family income that does not exceed 250% of the federal poverty level and a student must be either entering kindergarten, currently attending a public school in Louisiana, or currently attending a private school under either the Tuition Donation Rebate Program or the Louisiana Scholarship Program. While there is no deadline for applying, scholarship availability is on a first-come, first-serve basis, with priority given to students who received a scholarship in the previous year. Please note, students receiving a Louisiana Believes Scholarship may transfer to our scholarship. However, students may not transfer from our scholarship to the Louisiana Believes Scholarship.
Scholarship Amounts for the 2016-2017 School Year

Donors to the Excellence Scholarship Fund dramatically alter the lives of students from low-income families by providing them the opportunity to attend our city’s best nonpublic schools. A donor receives a charitable tax deduction for the year they make a donation to the scholarship fund. Donors become eligible for a 95% rebate from the Louisiana Department of Revenue after the funds have been spent on scholarships to qualified students.
