A quote from Marilyn Monroe.What’s your most memorable NSBR moment?I have two:1) Chris Meyer addressing a group of board members/community leaders during NSBR Summit. I was new to the organization, and was so moved listening to him share about why he and NSBR are so committed to this work. 2) When my house flooded, the NSBR team took a day to come and help me demo my house. Following the flood, the team - and particularly Chris - were amazingly supportive, offering to come out again, help with my move. What are your favorite go-to locations to recharge and gain inspiration/motivation?False River and the ocean.What’s some insider knowledge that only people in your line of work have? Just how bad the state of education in Baton Rouge really is.Who would play you in a movie of your life?Julia Dreyfus as Elaine from Seinfeld.What sets NSBR apart?Our position in the community. I feel we sit in a very unique place. We have such strong leadership and such a strong board, we have the right connections to help move our mission forward. Yet, we remain autonomous enough to be able to walk the path we believe in without being completely controlled by politics. What bit of trivia do you know that is very interesting but also very useless?Texas functions on its own power grid. The Flora Bama is the most well-known bar in the countryWhat really needs to be modernized?Hearing aids. What handy tips or tricks have you picked up from your NSBR position?Slack.What do you do to make the world a better place?Raise my kids with the same fundamental right from wrong that my parents raised me, set an example to always do what you feel is right and to be kind to others. What’s your favorite thing about Baton Rouge?It’s home. What’s the best lesson you’ve learned from a work of fiction?Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot. Nothing is going to get better.
