NSBR's New Chief of Staff, Dr. Dana Maxie

New Schools for Baton Rouge (NSBR) CEO Dr. Noemi Donoso has appointed Dr. Dana Maxie as Chief of Staff following a nationwide search. Starting October 7, 2024, Dr. Maxie will join the senior leadership team, focusing on strengthening NSBR’s community partnerships and shaping the organization’s performance systems and processes to serve Baton Rouge students and families.

"I am thrilled to welcome Dr. Dana Maxie to the NSBR team," said Dr. Noemi Donoso, CEO of New Schools for Baton Rouge. "Her extensive experience in educational leadership and passion for closing the achievement gap will be invaluable as we continue our mission to provide excellent educational opportunities for all Baton Rouge families. Her addition to the team is a big win for NSBR and the students in our community."

Dr. Maxie brings over 20 years of experience in executive leadership, strategic planning, operational management, and educational administration, most recently serving as Managing Director for Watershed Advisors. She has held several leadership roles with the Louisiana Department of Education, including Deputy Chief of Staff for the Office of Teaching and Learning and Chief of Staff for the Office of Assessments, Accountability, Early Childhood, and Data Systems. Dr. Maxie earned a doctoral degree from Nova Southeastern University, a master’s degree from Northwestern State University, and a bachelor’s degree from Southern University and A&M College.
