I look forward to it every year.” “I was able to speak to so many schools and even interview with three of them.” “I saw and met some quality applicants today; thank you.” These were just a few of the comments overheard from school representatives and teaching candidates at the recent Teach225 Teacher Career Fair.

More than 20 private, charter, and traditional district-run schools participated in the fair. Teaching candidates met with local school representatives, learned about their programs, and identified current openings. Several schools scheduled on-the-spot interviews for interested candidates.

University programs and certification organizations were also on hand to provide information on pathways into the teaching profession. These resources were especially beneficial for career explorers and aspiring educators seeking guidance on alternative certification, graduate programs, and professional development opportunities.

In addition to meeting and interviewing with school representatives, attendees also had the opportunity to update their profiles with a free professional headshot and receive one-on-one advice from the resume support station.

The Teach225 Teacher Career Fair underscored the strong demand for talented educators in Baton Rouge and the commitment from schools to find the right fit for their students.
